About Tony

Tony Beaulaurier is a professional guitarist/bassist and educator.  He has been active in music education for over 30 years, with the past 27 years as a private instructor at the recently closed A Sharp Music Company. While primarily involved with private instruction on guitar, bass, and ukulele since 1989, he has also taught a variety of classes at the community college level and served as a graduate assistant in music theory during his master's program at CWU. These classes included music theory, music history, history of rock music, history of jazz, class guitar, and class piano. He has performed in a variety of jazz, classical, and rock ensembles for over 30 years as well as musical theater orchestras. In addition to performing, Tony has composed and arranged music for jazz big band, symphonic band, chamber ensembles, theatre, and guitar. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in music from Central Washington University. 

Tony offers personalized instruction on electric and acoustic guitar, electric bass, and ukulele. Musical styles covered include classical, jazz, and a variety of rock styles. The student may choose to learn to read notation or use tablature. Lessons are tailored to the individual’s musical interests, strengths, and goals. Special attention is given to the rhythmic and harmonic requirements of the genre being studied.
